![]() I also wasn’t a huge fan of the music and, in short, nostalgia for 64 basically ruined the game for me. I was expecting Super Mario 64 part two, and instead I found a difficult to control, dull island that didn’t really do anything for me. I originally bought the game used at a GameStop many years ago just before my Nintendo hiatus, to play on my newly acquired Wii, with the plan to revisit the titles I never enjoyed on my Gamecube. I was very happy to have finished it because that meant that I no longer had to play it anymore. My history with Super Mario Sunshine is checkered, at best. ![]() There was also absolutely no exploring in any of the levels which is the best part about any Mario game, I completely felt cheated. These two aspects combined made running around all over the place feel too limiting. ![]() The controls did not help the situation either, nothing worse then trying to chase someone on a round plant and the controls just switch up on you because of your position on the planet. Running around the round planets, asteroids, and ships was fun but all too limiting by how terrible that camera was. The camera was atrocious and clearly the worst aspect of the game. But outside of the story, the game was not good. The story was actually enjoyable and unique, Luna actually had a lot of one liners that I enjoyed hearing. As the game started I began remembering the story and the levels. I remember not being impressed with this game all those years ago. Being surprised about how much I still liked Mario Sunshine I went ahead and played Mario Galaxy next.
